Piper to Preach Through Gospel of John!

A cause for great rejoicing!

For those of you who haven't yet heard John Piper's sermons on Romans, you should. Pastor John preached 224 sermons on this book. The DVD contains all of them as mp3's and is worth its weight in gold.

How long will it take him? You do the math:

Hebrews has 303 verses: he preached 52 sermons on Hebrews.

Romans has 433 verses: he preached 224 messages.

John has 879 verses...

But, however long the Lord gives him to preach this tremendous book, don't miss it!

Who Are You, O Man, To Answer Back to God?

If you want to ask God, "Why did you permit this?" and "Why didn't you do that?" then my advice is to "Be reconciled to God" (2 Corinthians 5:20) by believing in Jesus Christ as the only Savior, repenting and confessing that He is Lord.

Then you will have all eternity to ask God all your questions!

At this Easter season, what a reminder that this question -- and where we find the answer to it -- are the two most important things in the world.

God's word in Romans chapter 3 answers this question:

"all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God's righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins. It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

Then what becomes of our boasting? It is excluded. By what kind of law? By a law of works? No, but by the law of faith. For we hold that one is justified by faith apart from works of the law.
